My new favorite!

My new favorite thing is Greek yogurt with honey and a mixture of granola, nuts and dried berries.  I first had this at Starbucks.  I overheard a lady behind me raving about how good this yogurt parfait was so I picked one up and now I'm hooked.  I love to eat this for breakfast and for a late afternoon snack.  You have to try this out- you will love it!  Later-Steph

Blog obsessed

I woke up this morning and the cool front finally came in.  Yesterday was so muggy and warm and I am so tired of wearing warm season clothes.  I'm pasty white and ready to cover up!  Thats so I have an excuse not to work out or watch what I eat.  I have purchased a few outfits that only need some cooler weather.  Am I asking too much, just for a little fall weather!
I am fairly new to the whole blog thing but now I'm hooked!  But to be forewarned don't blog hop looking at wiww too late at night. I could not go to sleep.  All I could think about was peoples outfits.  Where did they get it? is it still in the store? Is it on sale yet? Can I pull off that outfit?  Where can I find it cheaper?  My head was spinning and I could not sleep.  So I feel like I have an addiction to blogs like a blog stalker and I think I got my friend Jill hooked too!  But as a thirty something mother of three I have been lost with my style.  I want to stay up with the trends and look fashionable but I don't want to look like I'm trying to look like I'm still in my twenties!  I look online at retail stores and see how they pair up the entire outfit but I can't afford to buy every piece.  And I don't want (or can't) to spend a lot of money on something that will be out of style next season.  So even though I get a little obsessed with it, it has been very helpful seeing other thirty/forty somethings that don't have a modal body and seeing what they wear.
Today I am taking a scrap booking class.  It's my first one so I'm excited to learn some new tricks to make my page pop!
I have been in a mode of organization and really just time to stop slacking and get my s*** together!  So I have a lot of projects on my to do list.  Some I have started and completed and some I have started but not yet completed.  I will take some pics because I'm pretty proud of what I have done!  Have a great day! Ciao Steph

So I have linked up with Lindsey at http://thepleatedpoppy.com/blog/ and holding my self accountable with what I wear.  As a stay at home mom its easy not to get dressed up(or at all) especially if I don't have anywhere to go or just a quick errand.  For the past 2 weeks I have discovered the wiww "what I wore Wednesday" and Lindsey put it best holding my self accountable for my appearance.  I love fashion and love shopping.  But the only time I dress up (i.e. hair, makeup pressed clothing, accessories) is if I go shopping or to lunch.  So I decided to bite the bullet and link up with the pleatedpoppy.  I have only taken 2 pictures so yes I have gotten dressed the other days of the week!  I just didn't take any pics.  I still need to figure out how to take a picture of myself.  This mirror is the only one that I could get  full length.  I hope everyone is having a great week and I look forward to Halloween.  Ciao- Steph

Make your own camera strap

I have become totally obsessed with blog hopping.  It started out searching for free info on photography(as I'm finding its an expensive hobby) and happen upon peoples personal blogs.  They are also either linked to photography workshops or selling some super creative crafty item.  So off I go, blog hopping and I stumble on a few ladies doing their "what I wore Wednesday" posts.  They take pictures of themselves in their favorite (or not so hot) outfits for the week and post on Wednesday.  I have found that its challenging to take a focused photo of one self in a mirror.  I thought maybe I should do this.  I am never in any pictures in the scrapbooks, so I try it out.  I made a pendent necklace and bought a cute top online but when I took my pictures I realized man I look so soft and fluffy.  Am I ever going to get over weight issues?  I don't think that I'm fat!  Yea I could stand to loose 5lbs (although they will find me again) but do these other women feel like that?  Anyways I have found a few blogs that I love their style i.e. thirty something-mother-housekeeper-cook-children's personal driver etc.  The bonus is they also shop at reasonable stores.  That is the key!  Who can afford children and shop?  Also I'm all about the flats!

So I got off my original subject- I was on kevin&amandablog and she gave step by step direction on how to make your own camera strap slip cover.  Soooo cute!  I have had my eye on these on etsy but never have made the leap and bought one, glad I didn't so check it out they are super cool photographers/people.  so here is the strap, I was too lazy to take it off my camera so I took a picture of it in the mirror.  Don't look too close because I am not the best at sewing so this is a major milestone for me.  I don't sew very often in fact I have to pull out the manual every time I do and I lost the manual so I had to search the Internet to find it pay and download it and of coarse the way it was scanned the text was in two different directions so I had to print it out but my printer is such a cheap piece of s*** that I had to buy one then wait for my dad to come over and install it then print, then wait for Kooper to take a nap and read up on how to fill the bobbin. Sorry about the run on sentence. To be a fly on the wall would have been funny. One step forward two steps back is usually my process when tackling a new project.  Have a great evening!

Halloween

I Love Halloween!  I love to decorate the house and the yard.  Every year we have a neighborhood trunk or treat and I like to decorate the trunk.  Each year it gets a little more elaborate and slightly out of hand.  We shall see what I come up with this year.  I hope I don't scare the kids.

MCP giveaway-Tamron Lens

MCP is having a give away- a Tamron 70-300mm lens which I could really use.  I could use this almost as an everyday lens since the boys are playing baseball and soccer and Kooper's main task in life is to stay as far away from me as possible.  I have a quantaray 70-300 but it doesn't have the Vibration Compensation that the tamron offers so if I am zoomed in all the way to 300 I always get camera shake there for my image is always a little blurry.  I could really use this lens so I could take pictures of my kids from far away where they can't see me and don't give me the cheesy grins!  I hope that I win it. Thanks, steph

First Blog Post

This is my first blog post, don't know why I started this but I think by having a blog I will write more and post pictures(which I am obsessed with).  I'm still trying to figure this whole thing out somehow my right click is stuck on one of shabby blogs buttons html and I can't copy just paste away the same thing.  I am so not techy- but I am trying to stay with the times.  I took the kids to the pumpkin patch saturday.  I had them all dressed up to take pictures, had my speedlite and read up on fill flash.  We get there and all three go in different directions.  I had a hard time getting a picture of all three and Kooper mostly had his back to me.  Instead of being mean mommy and yelling at everyone to look happy darn it we just picked out our 3 pumpkins and headed home.  Question why is it that the smoke detectors only warn you of a low battery IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!  Who wants to get up and change a battery at 2 am?  I am going to try to post a picture now,  lets see if it works:)
